WELCOME TO JUNIPER RAG | an Art Advocacy Project of Atelier ID Global

Contemporary art to elevate + enrich our spaces—

Juniper Rag strategically blends editorial, exhibition, community, collaborations and artist development into one ecosystem.

Michelle May and Payal Thiffault bring a rare combination of art world excellence and marketing strategy. Founded and led by both of us--working artists, each with over two decades of experience in design, curation and cultural programming. We understand both the creative and business sides of art. Juniper Rag bridges two major elements—bringing thoughtful curation, real artist networks and strategic visibility. Our virtual exhibitions create new pathways and open logistical and financial barriers to all artists globally.

Our programming, exhibitions and partnerships emerge from real artistic networks and community engagement and strategic planning of collaborations, that capitalize on timing--ensuring that every project reflects lived creative experience rather than purely commercial or institutional priorities, which we are not beholden to as independent advocates.

Juniper Rag sits at the intersection of: exhibition platform, cultural network + marketplace.

Juniper Rag is backed by our marketing agency, Atelier ID Global, also co-founded by us— We understand the art market landscape, the needs of artists and strategic business collaborations that widen your network. We also provide artist services, branding, website builds and manage collaborative events.

Juniper Rag has built a strong reputation in presenting high-caliber art in all media by some of the best emerging and mid-career artists, and proudly we have juried and curated some of the highest attending shows for our creative partners. Locally, we are active in many Massachusetts artist communities, which gives all of our talented artists strategic footing in New England.

THE COLLECTOR’S EDIT, Edition 2026

Two components:

--A shorter physical exhibition for the winter/holiday season of selected smaller works for gallery viewing and shopping.

--A longer online market of large works (+ gallery works) to appeal to interior designers and residential clients looking for affordable work as well as statement pieces.

CURATED BY MICHELLE MAY & PAYAL THIFFAULT OF JUNIPER RAG

Juniper Rag Contemporary invites artists to submit work for THE COLLECTOR’S EDIT, our winter exhibition celebrating original art as something to collect, live with and give with meaning. We look forward to seeing what you bring to THE COLLECTOR’S EDIT.

ALL selected artists will have the opportunity to move over to our permanent ART MARKET through this submission with complimentary placement.  (a $199 value)

Rooted in community and accessibility, THE COLLECTOR'S EDIT reflects Juniper Rag's commitment to championing independent artists and fostering genuine connections between makers and the people who love exciting, collectible original art, no matter where the artists are located in the world. Essentially, we have one call for art for two overlapping shows. You can request the physical, but all will be in the virtual.

 * We will be looking closely at size and price for the gallery show. The sweet spot is under $500 and under 20x20, but it is not an absolute restriction.

Jurying Begins: as submissions come in. The earlier you submit, the better. ABOUT COLLECTOR'S EDIT  We’re looking for compelling works from each participating artist for a curated presentation designed to connect original art with new and seasoned collectors. This is an opportunity to put your work in front of people looking for something beyond the ordinary—a distinctive piece for their home, a meaningful gift or the beginning of a collection. We welcome original work across disciplines, including painting, photography, collage, mixed media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and more. We’re interested in work with a clear point of view, a strong sense of individual style and the ability to create a connection with the person who encounters it.

Size matters. We will be curating a show for the gallery with a body of work that fits the space, but also an online market where we have the ability to share larger pieces.

  • We will place them in a room, in situ and keep the online collection up until the spring.
  • Your artwork would remain in our online market long after the physical show comes down in the gallery.
  • For the most part, smaller works will be easier to show in the gallery and larger works online.
  • Our intention is to put them all up online, even if they are in the gallery. The pick up date for physical work will happen before the online work ends, however.
  • Works from the physical show will remain online until the spring. This creates a variation in price range.
  • All work must be for sale until the end of the online exhibition, May 1.
  • Artwork should not be showing in other places at the same time to avoid sale issues.

Caveat: Artists can select their preference of online or physically in the gallery, but depending on space, it is our discretion to place art where it works best-- if you choose the gallery it may appear only virtually. Limited space.  We are looking to encourage holiday gift giving of art, to grow our collector base, and our interior design connections with larger works in this collection.       SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Submission Requirements: Please submit up to 6 cohesive works (same medium, colorway or style), a 300 word bio, a 300 word artist statement, optional, but valuable: headshot & process video
